Press brake forming is a metal fabrication process that uses a hydraulic, mechanical, or electric press brake to bend metal sheets and plates into custom angles. By applying force along a predefined bend line, this process creates high-strength components with excellent dimensional accuracy.


Some factors to take into account when planning to press brake your material is material pliability, grain direction, and material springback. Material pliability will determine the angle at which you can bend the material. Bending with or against the grain can determine how clean and structurally sound your bend will be. Finally, the material springback can determine how much the material will straighten itself out after bending.
